Jean and Debs from Hampshire Recycling came back to work with us again today. We audited our waste...we had more rubbish than before (oh dear!) but we also had nearly double the amount of recycling (great!). We now need to REDUCE our rubbish before they visit us again in the Spring.
After our waste audit, we looked carefully at our new compost bin by the herb garden. Did you know fruit, veg and paper towels are perfect to put in your compost bin but you shouldn't put in meat or cooked food because it might attract rats!
We then looked at all the animals you might find in a compost bin - worms, milipedes, centipedes and wolf spiders to name a few. We then made some movable compost animals and have displayed them by our school council board - come and take a look!
